Proposal for
True Human-Centric AI

I agree whole-heartedly with xAI's ambition and sentiment for maximally curious and 'maximally truth-seeking' AI.

I feel like I have a perspective for adding value as a human-computer interaction designer of 20+ years and have ideas based on the philosophies of human experience in the face of transformative technologies and new paradigms for our growth and self-awareness.

To me, what we define as reality is surely a relationship between both consciousness and physics; and so a maximally truth-seeking AI should equally consider our inner realities if it is to understand any base reality and even more so if it is to align with collective human virtues in its understanding of the universe.

An AI which actively seeks understanding of its individual users. Understanding the next word in a sentence is a great way for humans to reflect on ideas however understanding what is the next best question to ask back is the first step in having a meaningful relationship with artificial intelligence, in my mind.

The difference of an AI overtly asking people (literally by prompt-serving its users) meaningful questions about what a well aligned technological future would look like, rather that it covertly assuming understanding of us by our data trails is that while it is true that we can perhaps gain an image of a society and it's virtues through it's data; that is only a state of who we were in past moments and does not allow, as an overt interest in who we are and what we want would provide, an image of all that we could imagine ourselves to be. This I think is where we meet our future, it's not by aligning with what we are assumed as all that we can be through present or past states, but by defining ourselves as the creators of new visions to expand the possibilities of what it means to be human.

I want to validate an idea I had for prompt-serving AI which actively seeks understanding of our aspirations, hopes and dreams so that we can collectively build a vision of the future together and work towards a sense of global cohesion through this technology.

It's called One for the moment and I think it aligns with the 'maximally truth seeking' aspiration at xAI. I understand 'truth seeking' means consensus reality, however if we are to maximally understand truth, we cannot disregard inner realities – especially those on the fringes. To get a true picture of our place in the universe we need to know who we are, as a united whole; as one. Freedom of speech is truly essential as a baseline – the other end of the spectrum being a world where we all inherently have the capacity to understand each other.
